DESCRIPTION:This week we pay our respects to Robert Burns\, famous Scottish
poet & lyricist. Today marks his 257th Birthday\, celebration of his life
& works has achieved National treasure status in Scotland. He was voted t
he "greatest Scot" in 2009. Burns wrote original works and also revised/ad
apted Scottish folk songs. Think he played up a bit too. His best known po
em is Auld Lang Syne. Another\, "Scots Wha Hae"\, was recognised as the un
official National Anthem of Scotland for much of the 19th & 20th centuries
. Doubt we can encourage Shourouk to prepare Haggis but we will engage Clu
 b Members\, especially our Scots\, as much as possible to\; (1)deliver the
  Burns Grace\, (2)recite Burns Poetry or a brief story of a great 15th - 1
8th Century battle\, (3)lead the inaugural Scottish Songs contest. Each ta
ble will sing en masse\, possibly with music\, a preselected Scottish folk
song\, patriotic song or Hymn. Might be a good idea to load your table wit
h a "voice"!!.Why not wear a taste of Scot for the occasion??
