The 2017 Festival Committee met for the last time last week to review festival survey feedback (from RCE members, the community & stallholders), along with festival committee members’ feedback. Overall, the feedback was once again very positive and we have certainly achieved the goals that we set earlier this year. Thank you to our RCE members who responded to the survey - your feedback was most appreciated. Survey feedback will be emailed to members in the next week so please look out for this. Suggestions for continued improvement have also been captured and these will be considered by the 2018 Festival Committee when planning once again commences in April 2018. The next Festival Director has also been announced so congratulations and thank you to Dale Atkins. An experienced member of the festival committee, Dale will be well able to take the reins! Dale will relinquish key roles though as Aquabox Chairperson and Festival Registrations in order to take on the role of Festival Director. As Festival Treasurer, Lou is still wading through invoices, making payments etc. so the financials of the festival are still to be finalised. This usually takes a few weeks to sort out and Lou will provide members with an update once all bills have been paid and all anticipated revenue (e.g. sponsor donations) can be accounted for. As the 2017 Festival Director, I once again applaud and thank the Festival Committee members (Ann, Lou, Judy, Dave, Dale, Ken, Mike Englefield, Michael Maloney, Mike Wetzler, Paul, Andrew and valued assistants John and Roma, Jules and Kevin Darling-Filby) for planning and delivering yet another very successful Rotary Eltham Festival. A huge thank you also to our members and their partners along with an army of festival supporters and sponsors who got behind the work of the festival team and ensured the success of the 2017 festival.
