13 December 2018
Our Christmas function went very nicely with plenty of fun, fellowship and festivities. And the bears, what generosity was shown! Over one hundred and thirty teddies were donated for charities and the display was very eye catching. All shapes and sizes, these cute bears will bring a heap of pleasure to a lot of children over Christmas and beyond. A BIG thank you to our Rotarians, partners and ladies at the Eltham Rural Group who also contributed three bags of teddies. Thank you everyone for your special gifts for our little people. Cuddles galore ahead! A big thanks to Jules too who has already distributed the bears to several charities in readiness for Christmas treats.
We had some treats too by way of Sly Santa gifts. Special thanks to Alison who organised our Christmas event and the Sly Santa gifting/snatching arrangements. We had some fun on our table, I don’t think we followed all of the rules but my goodness, gifts were flying backwards and forwards across the table as by stealth, we tried to off-load or snatch a particular gift. All with good humour of course and yes, it was fair to all concerned! Thanks also to everyone who joined us on the night; Ian Toohill and Dale who took some happy snaps to capture the occasion; Lou for being the MC; Charlie & Fi for their entertainment and Ballara Receptions for their lovely hospitality, food and much appreciated support of the Rotary Club of Eltham.
This week is our end-of-year wind up with a social evening and barefoot bowls at HGC. Another week of fun and frivolity is promised so I do hope you can join us.
Our last Bulletin for 2018 will be published next week.
