A Last Post
I started as Bulletin Editor in 2003.
Now I hand the role on and start assembling our Club History.
But a few thanks are due.
Gary Williams.
Gazza has been Program Director for 9 years. What an incredible Job. In that time he kept up a continual line of speakers. Always interesting and always fair and balanced. Without his efforts there would have been precious little to report on. We had Pro Genetically modified crops, and the case against a few weeks later. A brilliant effort, big (Clown) shoes to fill. I also remember Trevor Smith as Program Director, another great job. There were others, a very difficult job.
And 911. We had several members in New York at the time. Afterwards there was much concern about Muslims. Our Program director arranged for a speaker from the Victorian Muslim community. We were expecting A turban and Beard.
What we got had a beard, but it was a big bright red one with a florid Celtic face to match. We learnt a lot that night. About the Wahibee, and the fact that Saddam Hussein entrusted his security to the Presidential Guard, who were Christian, as he didn't trust the Muslims. Sure enough a few weeks later we had a speaker who was a missionary who had spent many years in Lebanon and surrounding areas.
PP Chris Chapple started printing the Bulletin in colour and enlisted the aid of his Graphic designer.
PP Brad Quilliam of RC Kinglake Ranges printed it for no charge in full colour for a few years.
PP Mike Englefield made the decision to send the Bulletin out electronically instead of picking it up from Kinglake every week.
Judy Sharp joined the club and did a brilliant job in reporting the news. Mind you she came with impeccable credentials having been editor of Kinglakes local rag for many years. Now she is becoming President Elect Judy. Thanks Judy
Diane Penkethman joined the club and very promptly began reporting on our speakers. It was great to read her work, there were always some details I hadn't noticed, always great reading. Thanks Diane, it was a pleasure reading your reports

This Rotary year seems to have flown and I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. Thank you all for the tremendous support you have given me as President of this great Rotary Club.We have had record attendances throughout 2015-16 and this is due to the effective and enthusiastic members of our Board. I thank them all for their hard work and for the professional way they have handled their portfolios.It has been a very inclusive Board and I have delegated responsibilities to each member to perform their tasks and fortunately they have all done a great job..jpeg)
