I am very pleased to inform you that the Board has placed the order to replace the microphones etc.and use a wireless option for the audio signal and use the in house system at The Common. This will mean no cables and I am assured a trouble free sound system. I was pushing to have this all installed by this week but some components are not available so will hopefully be done the following week.
This year's Board has invested heavily to upgrade and modify the BBQ trailer and ensure it is safe. We have replaced the projector that is used on Thursday nights as well as the laptop and now the audio system. This should ensure trouble free operations for many years.
Congratulations to the Interact Club on the success of the Wheelchairs for Kids day last Friday. Ian Toohill tells me they collected $1700 on the day with more to come and will give us a full report on Thursday night. Thanks to him and to the students at Montmorency Secondary College.
Thanks also to Jill Ramsay for her brilliant presentation last week to launch this years Festival; we have a top team in place ensuring a successful weekend of activities. Thursday we have a big night with an informative presentation from the Chair of The Reach Foundation Chris Wilson. Reach was founded by the late Jim Stynes; such an inspiration. This promises to be a wonderful night. See you then, President David

VALE Elizabeth Ramsay.
Last Friday we gathered at the Heidelberg Golf Club to remember Liz Ramsay. A truly Lovely Lady. I was reminded of her love of music, remembering the pride with which she talked about her new Music System in Phillip Island. We heard of her pride and Joy, the V12 Jag and later the Mercedes.
She maintained the tractor, whilst the boys watched on. And in the early years, when cash was short she worked as a truck driver delivering steel.
Many old friends were there to remember her, we caught up with some of them from the Rural Group and Rotary. Too many memories to fit in mere words. We will all remember and miss her.

This week Chris Wilson, Chairman, Reach Foundation is our special guest. Reach was founded in 1994 by Jim Stynes & Paul Currie. Carefully developed programs have helped young people aged 10-18 with mental health and low esteem issues. The National school & Community based programs focus on preventing bad behaviour through early intervention. The plan has always been to identify the underlying reasons for negative behaviour and redirect individual energy to positive results. Chris, who has only recently been appointed Chairman, will be supported by two of the "Reach Crew" team leaders.
President David will be assisted by Howard Turner, Father in Law of Chris Wilson, as chair. The full weight of Bendigo Bank's one & only, Michael Maloney will strip us of our hard earned.
Venue is The Common, 6.15pm for 6.45pm; $35 for two course meal, drinks @ bar prices. The speaker & theme this week is the perfect opportunity to invite partners & friends. We all know of young people who have benefited from the kind of help provided by Reach.

Speaker: Jill Ramsay (Festival Director 2016) gave a great presentation on plans for this year’s Festival on 11/12 November and the team work necessary to make this event a success. Committee members, including Dale Atkins, Lou Bolzonello, Mike Englefield, Kevin Hadingham, Paul Kelly, Michael Moloney and Judy Sharp, each described their key roles and responsibilities. Members are invited to come forward and assist in areas of interest to them in order to ensure a succession plan for this annual event. Well done Jill for stepping up to such a demanding role!
