President's Message
Haven't we had a good spread of guest speakers this year? Gary has certainly done a good job selecting interesting and informative presenters each week and Sam Cusamano also proved to be a very knowledgable and interesting speaker; thanks Sam, we all enjoyed your presentation.

This week we have President Elect Kevin Hadingham giving us his 'Rotarian behind the Badge' presentation. These nights are always very enjoyable so make sure you come along to learn more about our next President.

I have been very happy and proud to be President of our great Rotary Club. I think it has been a wonderful year due mainly to the quality of the 2015-16  Board members. I would like to thank them all for their hard work and support for the entire year.
Lou Bolzonello does an incredible job as Treasurer, always devoting a lot of his weekend to Rotary business. Thanks Lou; you are always available when I require information and it is reassuring to know that the financial aspects of the Club are in such safe and efficient hands.
The wireless component of the new sound system is out of stock but we should have everything installed over the next 2 weeks ensuring trouble free audio. I hope you have enjoyed the long weekend; stay warm and see you Thursday night.
Thanks President David.

Stories
This Week at Rotary

This week President Elect Kevin has his opportunity to "tell it as it is" by courtesy of his Rotarian behind the Badge. Sure makes you realise the current  Rotary year is almost done. Kevin has quite a story to tell…………lovely family, Engineering, VicRoads, travel, cars, handyman, enthusiastic support for Marion in Muskaan, community service and a sense of humour to glue the story together. Kevin is great at attention to detail so we should enjoy a full picture of what he plans to bring to RC Eltham in 2016/2017.

President David will be quietly clapping in the background. Rob Kilcullen will be in the chair whilst "Doc" McCleary will lay the fines. Lets show our strong support for Kevin.

2. Brett Linsell: Rotaractors are organising a Trivia Night on Saturday 19 August at St John’s, Diamond Creek, the topic being education. $15 per person or $100 for a table of 10. Would be great to have the support of RC Eltham.
3. Ann Lynch: Still waiting on parts for sound system. RSVPs and payments for Changeover at Ballara on 30 June need to be finalised by Monday 13 June. A combined Board meeting on Wednesday 15 June at Noble House – please bring along end of year reports.
4. Graham Miles: Update on footy tipping. Eight people got full marks last week and Dale Atkins is in pole position!
5. Dale Atkins: Correspondence received from Philippines informing us that pre-positioned Aquaboxes were distributed across five areas on 20 March – thanks from Philippines Red Cross.

Speaker: Sam Cusamano, President of RC Bundoora. Sam is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University. He is very involved in sports law and is a member of the following tribunals: VFL, AFL (Vic) Appeals Board, AFL (Vic Country) Appeals Board, Northern Football League Tribunal and Tennis Australia Officials Tribunal. Sam’s interesting presentation gave us an insight into this particular area of sports administration.

International Report
The International Committee comprising myself, Kevin Hadingham, Ian (Gunna) Toohill and Frank Lynch, have had a very successful and rewarding year with a number of projects completed. These include East Timor - completion of the works at Hera($1300), support to ROMAC ($500), and our Wheelchairs for Kids Fundraiser(approx. $8000).

I would like to extend my thanks to my team for their hard work especially with their support for Wheelchairs for Kids, on a very cold Friday night.
Also to Sally Squires and her Youth committee for their great support at this fundraising event. It was great night and a testament to Gunna’s hard work leading up to and during the event.

Next Rotary year we will be looking to build on this year and hopefully see Kevin( of India) Hadingham’s Muskaan project come to fruition with the completion of the Muskaan School in India.

My thanks to President David and all the Board Members for their support over the past Rotary year.

To all the members of the Rotary Club of Eltham many thanks for your support  and help over the past year, but especially with your generous financial support to the wheelchairs for kids fundraiser. It was a great success because of your great support.
