In the spacious surrounds of the Eaglemont Room at Heidelberg Golf Club, last week’s meeting was all about refreshing our knowledge of CPR techniques and the correct use of our two defibrillators. We had an opportunity to get hands-on and practice the techniques. Thanks to Frank Perri from Victoria First Aid Education Services Vic for an important and engaging presentation.
An enthusiastic group of Rotarians enjoyed fellowship and conviviality over dinner last Saturday at the Jazz Festival. Six intrepid souls volunteered to man the very busy top crossing in Pryor St on Saturday afternoon and our thanks go to Keith, Jill, Michael Martin, Jules, and Irene for their work.
Thanks also to last weekend’s BBQ team and especially to Denise Billings who volunteered to step into a last minute vacancy on the team.
We have received quite a number of survey responses to date. There are some very interesting and thought provoking comments and suggestions coming through and I thank those who have taken a few moments to complete the survey and give the current and incoming Board valuable information on our direction for the next year or so. You still have time to complete the survey - closing date is 9 March. We will report results back to you at Club Assembly on 5 April. I’ll be away this week but I leave you in the very capable hands of PP Kevin Hadingham. Have a good week and see you all for our sports night on 8 March. Cheers,
President Judy

Thanks so much to Ann Lynch for organising the amazing hands on session learning CPR and the use of the Club Defibrillators last week. Now we are back again in the Bryn Teg Room for our meeting and look forward to welcoming our guest speaker Veronica Kioria from the Diamond Valley Learning Centre. The Community Committee has organised for Veronica to be our speaker and update us on the different programs and the assistance our monetary contributions have made to the students.
Come along and hear how a local youth initiative benefits from Rotary involvement.

The Membership Committee is still working towards our target of five new members for the Rotary 2017/2018
While we are delighted with the value added to our club by the three new members to date, I.e. Ernita, John and Keith, we still need to attract more members. We know people join Rotary for friendship and social activities. By inviting our friends, neighbours and colleagues to meetings, we can show them the benefits in joining the Rotary Club of Eltham.
Currently Paul Kelly is leading the challenge for the bottle of Moët by bringing his friend Dennis Booth along. Dennis is a definite prospective member. Thanks heaps Paul. It would also be wonderful if Paul had some competition!
