When Shayla, now 24, was little, mum Cheryl Meredith promised her she would not miss out on the fun things her younger, athletic brother did. Now keeping this promise will be easier when a shed to store cumbersome, heavy adaptive bikes is built near the Diamond Creek Trail.  The shed is a combined project by Nillumbik Shire Council, the Brotherhood of St Laurence and the Australian Government.
Council would love to hear from anyone who has, or knows someone with an adaptive bike, or who would use one now that a shed is being built to store them in Diamond Creek. To discuss specific needs or get involved in planning the shed, please contact Council’s Community Inclusion Coordinator Angela Lampard on 9433 3355 or email inclusion@nillumbik.vic.gov.au by 27 April.
